MNSCHA’s purpose is to offer a safe, fun, educational, and competitive venue of ranch sorting to Minnesota and surrounding states. MNSCHA offers youth and novice classes along with free admission for spectators to encourage participation from individuals unfamiliar with horses and cattle. It is important to us to educate people about the safe and ethical treatment of large animals. By getting new people involved either as spectators or participants, it will enable the association to broaden horizons and open up new opportunities for everyone.
There are MNSCHA sanctioned shows in Minnesota and surrounding areas. Click here to view our calendar.
MNSCHA follows typical rules of ranch sorting. Full rules and bylaws can be found in our About Us page.
Yes. There are riders and horses of various skill levels. Member ratings are based off of past earnings, rider and horse skill levels. There are many classes to accommodate all levels of riders from no experience to professionals.
If you do not have a sorting partner, all classes offer a draw option. This means that you can enter a class and will be drawn with another rider. Almost all MNSCHA classes require a draw ride. This is a great opportunity to ride and get to know new people.
If you are interested in a sorting clinic, please Contact Us. We are working on scheduling a clinic for riders new to ranch sorting. We are interested in hearing about your interest. Please Contact Us.
